Laure makes unique and tailor-made rugs in micro manufacture

Thanks to her machines, Laure makes unique rugs from A to Z. To achieve this, it ensures all the management of its commercial activity.

Laure Kasiers has been making unique bespoke pieces for 15 years. This Brussels resident manipulates textiles to create floor or wall rugs. In her workshop, nestled in the heart of Molenbeek, Laure works with large machines.

Once the linen or wool filaments are intertwined, by a set of bobbins, then comes the meticulous manual assembly work: “It’s the way I’m going to put them together, which will give the designs and the patterns then on the carpet“, she explains to us while working.

The results are often organic shapes. That’s what I’m looking for in my creative process“, justifies Laure Kasiers. “Leave some vibration, make surfaces come alive“, she adds.

The designer sells her rugs for several hundred euros. Far from the industrial factories, in addition to the control of the gesture, the small independents like Laure must ensure all the management of their activity. “You still have to hang on, because it’s not easy. You must keep trying. What can be difficult is that we have all the hats. We have to take care of everything“, admits Laura.

Entrepreneurship and creativity have allowed Laure to exhibit her creations across the Atlantic.
