What if it was Laura Gauché’s weekend. It is not yet time to ignite but following her third place on Thursday, the skier from Tignes achieved the best time of the second training session of the descent of Crans Montana (Switzerland). She is ahead of the Norwegian Ragnhild Mowinckel by three small hundredths and by 27 hundredths Priska Nufer and Romane Miradoli. A result, however, to put into perspective since the Savoyard missed a door.
Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia, 5th and 8th respectively, are relegated to 31 and 62 hundredths while Olympic champion Corinne Suter finished 10th almost eight tenths.
Third French in the running, Esther Paslier is 30th at 1”91.
As a reminder, two descents are planned on Saturday (10 a.m.) and Sunday (10:30 a.m.). So many opportunities to shine for the Savoyard in search of a first career World Cup podium.
