How did Laura Casas start to heal spaces?

From a very young age I have been sensitive to the energies of people and spaces. I lived in my house for a long time and that helped me to identify the real places. Time passed and I was creating techniques to transform the energy of the spaces and the sensations that they provide to the people who inhabit them. I do everything through energy and how it can pamper the senses of every human being. I work with colors, shapes, textures, aromas, lighting and natural elements, teaching my clients to really connect with their spaces and, in this way, heal them.

What is the decoration trend in this time of transition?

Everything that is natural, sustainable and ecological. Reuse what we have from past years and complement it with more artisan, natural, real elements. As in design, the same thing happens at this time. We are looking to feel more fresh and connected with nature through neutral colors, earth and whites.

What kind of accessories do you recommend at home to have a good energy?

More than accessories, I recommend having natural elements. Plants, flowers, handmade elements. To have good energy in our spaces it is essential to connect with them from the heart. Feel that feeling of fullness as you enter them. For this reason, it is very important that we connect with everything we have. There is an exercise that I love to recognize which are those elements that are blocking energy and it is the exercise of walking around the house, standing in front of each object and feeling what it wants to communicate to us. It’s regarding identifying how we feel regarding that item. We must ask ourselves: do we have it there because we really like it or because someone gave it to us? We are going to realize that there are many things at home that do not tell our own story and all they are doing is awakening emotions of sadness, nostalgia, guilt or fear. These must go.

What role does lighting play in the home?

Lighting is a magic tool. I say that a space can change completely depending on its lighting. Our brain reacts in a certain way, depending on the type of lighting we have. I really like neutral lighting and warm lighting, because what our brain perceives is that the day is ending, we are under the sunset light and we can rest and release the load and stress.

How to have a balanced space?

Our spaces are directly connected with our energy, so it is very important that, if we want a clean and balanced space, we are aware that we cannot live fighting within it, we cannot complain, be stressed all the time or invite people with those that we do not connect, because that energy that we are emitting remains in the spaces for a long time. If you feel that your space needs an energetic cleaning, I recommend: open all the windows and let the air in and flow through every corner.

For you, what does it mean to connect with space?

Connecting with space is learning to feel it and to synchronize with it. It is transforming its energy and appropriating it. Entering our home and feeling that we belong there and that there is no other place in the world more welcoming, loving and comfortable than our space, regardless of how big it is, how much furniture we have or where it is. There is the real connection.

Where should the mirrors be located and why?

Mirrors are very powerful elements, they are capable of replicating the energy of what they reflect on large scales. I recommend putting mirrors in spaces that we want to feel bigger, in places where what is going to be reflected is nature, natural light, flowers. I love to put mirrors in the dining rooms, because this place is energetically a space of nutrition, abundance and sharing. If the mirror reflects it, what is happening is that this beautiful vibration is multiplied.

What is the trend that will be used in 2022 in the design of houses?

We come with very similar design trends from last year. Every time we are looking, as human beings, to live in a space that not only looks good, but feels good. Having only things that connect with us, have an organized space, get closer to nature through artisan, natural, handmade elements. Painting the walls in neutral colors, green colors, light blues, earth colors and being more minimalist are the trends that are being increasingly sought in interior spaces.
