The big names in the Italian fashion world return to the catwalks of fashion shows in Milan to present their women’s collections for the fall-winter 2022-2023 season, which started yesterday, Wednesday, in an event that arouses great interest among the sector that paid a heavy tax two years following the start of the pandemic.
Exhibitors, photographers and distinguished guests are expected to discover in droves the latest creations from Gucci, the Kering Collection, Fendi (LVMH Group) and Giorgio Armani, as well as Ferrari’s first steps in the world of luxury fashion. Since the outbreak of the “Covid-19” outbreak in Italy, there will be more shows in the audience format than those made by streaming or pre-recorded.
It has been proven over the past two years that alternative video presentations cannot replace those in which major brands use dazzling tactics to present their latest trends.
Milan is pinning all its hopes on the return of hundreds of buyers, journalists and well-known personalities in the fashion world to events held throughout the capital of the Italian province of Lombardy.
Carlo Capasa, president of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, said that the 58 fashion shows held in attendance send “a strong signal of optimism and positivity, which gives a new impetus to the sector.”
It is expected that companies operating in the Italian fashion sector and their collaborators will generate sales of 83 billion euros for 2021, an increase of 20.9 percent over 2020, according to the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. This number is still 7.8% lower than in 2019.
Exports jumped by 16.4 percent in the first ten months of 2021, particularly supported by a 50 percent increase in sales in China and 31.8 percent in the United States.
