Launching 20 reproductive health and family planning convoys in 60 villages (details) – Darb

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the launch of 20 reproductive health and family planning convoys in 60 villages in 16 governorates, under the slogan “Your Right to Organize”, during the period from Saturday 20 to Tuesday 30 August, within the framework of the National Family Development Project.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the first reproductive health convoys will be launched on August 20, 21 and 22, to tour the villages of “Al Jaradat, Dumsna, and Balqatr” in the administration of Abu Homs, Beheira Governorate, pointing out that these convoys roam the villages of the governorates of the National Family Development Project. And the villages of “a decent life” and the villages most in need, during 3 days in a row, with the aim of providing free family planning and reproductive health services and means, and to raise community awareness, as part of the state’s plan to reduce population growth rates.

Abdel Ghaffar added that 6 other convoys will be launched on August 21, 22 and 23, to roam the villages of “Al-Deir, Mit Kinana, and Al-Amar” in the Toukh administration in Qalyubia governorate, and “Al-Hamam, Dandel, and Bahbeshin” in the Nasser administration in Beni Suef, and “Sheikh Gharib, and Al-Khafeej, Mansheyet Esmat” the Qasasin administration in Ismailia governorate, “Kula, Al-Sawa’a, and Al-Hawaweesh” the Akhmim administration in Sohag Governorate, “Hanout, Nahatay, and Masjeed Wasif” in Zefta administration in Gharbia Governorate, and “Ghazaleh, Tahawai, and Gargira” administration in Sinbillawin, Dakahlia Governorate.

Abdel Ghaffar noted that 4 other reproductive health convoys will be launched in the villages of “Sersna, Farqus and Al-Rawda” in the Tamiya administration in Fayoum governorate, and in the villages of “Al-Tataleya, Ballout and Mir” in the Qusiya administration in Assiut Governorate, and the villages of “Korsa, Kafr Mansour, and Samadon” in the Ashmoun administration in Menoufia Governorate, and the villages of “Hour, Darwa, and Al Barsha,” the Mallawi administration, Minya governorate, on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of the same month.

For his part, Dr. Hossam Abbas, head of the Population and Family Planning Sector, indicated that 4 reproductive health convoys will be launched, on August 23, 24 and 25, in the villages of “Al Mazra’a Mechanized, Mahdia, and Al-Najili” in the Abu Al Matamir Department of Beheira Governorate, and the villages of “Al-Disimi, Al-Jazeera, Al-Hayy and Al-Manashee.” Al-Saf administration in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, and the villages of “Waqf Qebli, Khalij Bahri, and Bani Bakar” administration of Motobas in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, and villages of “Qamula, Al-Bairat, and Al-Dab’iya” in Al-Qurna administration in Luxor governorate.

Abbas added that another convoy will be launched on the 27th, 28th and 29th of this month in the villages of “Al-Matania, Kafr Ammar, and Al-Raqqa” in the South Al-Ayyat administration in Giza governorate, and 4 reproductive health convoys will be launched in the villages of “Kafr Atallah, Damlo, and Marsafa” in the Banha administration, Qalyubia governorate, The villages of “Tansa, Towa, and Saft Rashin” in the administration of Beba, Beni Suef governorate, and the villages of “Seddiqiyah, Fares, and Al-Atmoor new” in the administration of Kom Ombo in Aswan Governorate, and the villages of “Al-Akhaywa, and the martyrs of Bahr al-Baqar, and the island of Saud” of the Husseiniya administration in Sharkia governorate, within 28 days And the 29th and 30th of the same month.

Abbas added that obstetrics and gynecology specialists and family planning specialists were provided in convoys to provide distinguished and high-quality services, including counseling services, pregnancy follow-up and ultrasound, pointing to the provision of a distinguished group of safe and effective family planning methods free of charge, including modern long-acting methods, to raise Means usage rates, and reducing unmet need, in order to satisfy beneficiaries.

Abbas noted that exhibitions of women’s clubs will be held accompanying the convoys, to display the products of women who have been trained in women’s clubs in health units, believing in the ministry’s belief in the importance of empowering women and supporting them economically, which has a positive impact on the development of the Egyptian family.
