launch on February 24, 2022, it’s official

Oppo is preparing to unveil a new generation of high-end smartphones by the end of the month, and we now know almost everything regarding all the models that the manufacturer intends to present.

Oppo has just announced on its social networks that it will hold a conference on February 24 at 12 p.m. during which 3 new smartphones will be introduced. The Chinese manufacturer has already confirmed that it will be Find X5 Pro, Find X5 and Find X5 Lite. To follow the event live, all you have to do is go to the official website of the manufacturer. Oppo also took advantage of this announcement to reveal itself official images of its smartphones.

As we might see when we had discovered the first renders that had leakedthe Find X5 and Find X5 Pro will use a design quite similar to the previous generation on the front side, but the rear photo module will offer a design never before seen in any of its competitors.

The Find X5 and Find X5 Pro will use an in-house chip from Oppo

Oppo has once more confirmed on its social networks that its Find X5 and Find X5 Pro will use an in-house MariSilicon X chip. The latter is an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) microprocessor whose task will be to improve image processing. According to Oppo, the chip will allow both smartphones to process RAW images in real time and to offer p4K AI performance up to 20x faster than in previous generations.

We also learn that Oppo would have focused on night photos this year, although the Find X5 Pro only uses a 50 MP IMX766 main sensor, which is not the biggest in its class. Indeed, it is not a high-end photo sensor, since it is found for example on the new Realme 9 Pro+ offered at less than 400 euros.

In addition to the MariSilicon X chip, Oppo will also bet this year on its new partnership with the Swedish giant Hasselblad for the photo. Indeed, we can see on the back of the smartphone that the Find X5 and X5 Pro feature the famous Hasselblad logo. As a reminder, it was OnePlus that entered into a partnership with the company for its OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro last year, but since the two manufacturers have recently become very close, this has allowed Oppo to benefit from it as well.

It remains to be seen what the benefits of this collaboration will be for smartphones. On the OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus announced that its partnership with Hasselblad brings a technology called “OnePlus Billion Collor”. This enabled Hasselblad’s “Natural Color Calibration” to be applied to over a billion colors. In addition, the smartphone is capable of taking 10-bit photos with more natural colors than previous generations.

The Find X5s will arrive with Oppo’s first tablet

The conference on February 24 will not only be an opportunity to discover the new high-end smartphones from Oppo, since the Chinese giant also has take the opportunity to present its first tablet. At the moment, not much is known regarding this one, but it should offer a configuration quite close to the Xiaomi tablet, la Xiaomi Pad 5. It might thus be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which has little to envy to last year’s Snapdragon 888.

A poster previously revealed that the tablet would rely on a single sensor on the back, unlike the Galaxy Tab S8 which both offer two sensors on the back. We therefore imagine that the tablet will be relatively affordable, but also that its technical data sheet will not be up to par with Samsung’s devices.

Finally, we know that Oppo will also lift the veil on a new generation of Enco X2 wireless headphones. As a reminder, Oppo Enco X of the first generation had nothing to envy to the AirPods Pro in our test, so it is expected that this new generation will come improve the few black points that we had raised. We can for example cite some microphone problems, the absence of an equalizer in the application or even a not really fast fast recharge. Anyway, there are only a few days to wait before discovering all the new devices from Oppo.
