ALGIERS – Training on photovoltaic energy production led by experts from the Korea Cooperation and Development Agency (KOICA) and the Korean Rural Community Corporation (KRC) began on Sunday in Algiers, aiming to share the Korean experience and technology in solar power generation, said a statement from the Center for Renewable Energy Development (CDER).

This local training, which will last until November 6, saw the participation of 20 people representing three establishments, namely the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER), the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Commission ( CEREFE) and the National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalization of Energy Use (APRUE), specified the same source.

The training program includes seminars on the Korean photovoltaic power generation quality certification system and quality technology, as well as sessions on drafting the project concept paper (PCP).

Aiming to further develop the results of the training for Algerian experts in photovoltaic energy systems, which started in 2021 and ended in 2023, the training also offers to “visit a power generation test facility photovoltaic system operated by CDER in Algeria and explore development plans through in-depth discussions with Korean quality control experts.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS), the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER), the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Commission (CEREFE) and the National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalization of Energy Use (APRUE) attended the opening ceremony of this event, the press release said.

On this occasion, the director of the KRC, Shin Hong Seop, affirmed that “this training is a valuable opportunity to share Korean experience and technology in solar energy production” while wishing that “friendly cooperation between Algeria and Korea will develop further in the future.
