Marocotel’s opening ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor.
The 17th edition of Marocotel will be held until March 20, its mission is to support the recovery of the tourism industry throughout its value chain and ecosystems.
The 17th edition of Marocotel, the international exhibition of professional equipment for the hotel industry, catering, food trades, well-being and leisure, opened on Wednesday at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center in El Jadida, with the participation of some 300 national and international exhibitors.
This new edition of the Marocotel show will be held until March 20 under the sign of “Relaunch and Renewal”, in order to support the recovery of the tourism industry in its entire value chain and ecosystems following the sudden stop caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This event is intended in particular to be an opportunity to promote synergies between the various decision-makers and economic actors and a sectoral professional showcase for supporting the upgrading and development of tourist infrastructures, in order to consolidate the Moroccan offer and make it more attractive and more competitive.
During the opening ceremony of Marocotel, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, welcomed her participation in this show which constitutes “a magnificent platform for meeting for professionals which will allow them to exchange innovations, novelties and everything that is done in the hotel and craft sectors”.
“Thanks to these exchanges, we will all work together for the resumption of tourist activity,” said the minister in a statement to MAP.
This 17th edition is “extremely promising” and “shows that the Moroccan tourism sector and the crafts sector are really present and are willing for a rapid resumption of tourist activity”, she added.
For his part, Adil Karim, general manager of Reed Exhibitions Morocco, organizer of Marocotel, welcomed the holding of the show this year, following having been postponed to 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that this 17th edition has been dubbed “the Revival and Renewal edition” because “we need a renewal strategy and a complete rethinking of the way we see tourism in all its ecosystems and facets”.
“Marocotel supports the government strategy of the tourism industry in all its segments”, explained Mr. Karim, noting that this edition “allows us to find exhibitors and visitors who come to discover the latest innovations in terms of professional equipment for hotel, catering and catering trades”.
“This show is the showcase for this entire sector, especially for everything related to services and upgrading of hotel establishments, catering establishments, spas, and everything related to well-being and leisure. “, he observed.
And to add that the show is divided into six distinct universes, namely: “Welcome and Relax”, “Design and Decorate”, “Cook and Serve”, “Manage and Connect”, “Clean and Maintain”, and “Relax and Entertain”.
Marocotel 2022 welcomes some 300 national and international exhibitors on more than 30,000 m² of exhibition and entertainment, including market leaders in the fields of bedding, linen, professional textiles, bathrooms, well-being , fitness, swimming pool, water parks, spas, kitchen equipment and materials, catering concepts, decoration, furniture, tableware, cafeterias, bars , new technologies, HI-Tech products, food products, laundries, hygiene, cleaning and many other sectors.
In addition to the exhibition platform, the show also reserves rich and diversified entertainment for its exhibitors and visitors.
Furthermore, Marocotel, which has always had a special intention for architects, interior designers and designers since its creation in 1988, will host for the 3rd consecutive edition the event “Marocotel La Galerie”, whose main objective is to showcasing architects, interior designers and designers. A space of 400 m2 will highlight their creations in furniture, in decorative objects, in realization of project in model or on board.
