Launch of Season 3 on FX

Today, Thursday, March 24th, the American cable channel FX is finally presenting the third season of Atlanta following a break of almost four years. Ten new episodes are planned for the multiple Emmy-winning dramedy by and with Donald Glover. A fourth season and final season has already been waved through in advance.

Atlanta“ This time it’s moving from Georgia to Europe. In the season two finale, music executive Earn (Glover) and his cousin and hip-hop star Al aka Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) embarked on a tour of the old world with Clark County (RJ Walker). That’s where most of the new season takes place. Darius (Lakeith Stanfield) and Van (Zazie Beetz) also traveled with them. In addition to the feeling of being a stranger, the central question is how the main characters deal with their new success. Because the tour is a real hit!

Atlanta season three was originally scheduled to air in January 2021. However, the pandemic caused a delay with the first lockdown, which at least made it possible for Glover and company to prescribe the script for the season following next. But then, according to station boss John Landgraf, some of the actors were not available, which caused renewed delays in the schedule.

Atlanta‘, available to stream on Disney+ in this country, centers on an unsuccessful but bright young man from Georgia who ends up managing his cousin, who is a gifted hip-hop musician. Glover once described his format as Twin Peaks, only with rappers. And indeed, the series made a name for itself for infusing odd episodes and surreal moments.
