Latvia to supply Ukraine with 4 million euros worth of drones

The Ministry of Defense will deliver another batch of drones to Ukraine – more than 2,500 units worth 4 million euros, the ministry reported.

According to the drone coalition, the next batch of drones will be gradually delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in July. More than 2,500 combat drones of various types and characteristics will be delivered to Ukraine for a total of 4 million euros. The first batch of 300 drones will be delivered in the coming days.

Defence Minister Andris Spruds said the drones were produced by seven Latvian companies.

This year, the Ministry of Defence has allocated 20 million euros to the drone coalition, of which more than 10 million euros are intended for the purchase of drones from the Latvian defence industry.

In April and May of this year, Latvia sent 135 combat drones and electronic warfare systems of various capacities to Ukraine for regarding 1 million euros. Until the end of the year, the Ministry of Defense will continue to purchase combat drones of Latvian production, primarily FPV drones.

The International Drone Coalition currently includes 14 countries – Latvia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Great Britain, France, Sweden and Estonia. In total, the coalition member countries have allocated more than half a billion euros to date for the supply of drones to Ukraine.
