Latvia plays France at the World Hockey Championship today

The subgroup B match in Ostrava will start at 17:20 Latvian time and will be broadcast live on LTV7.

On Saturday, Latvia beat Poland 5:4 in the first match of the tournament, while France lost to Kazakhstan 1:3.

On May 14, Latvia will meet with Kazakhstan, on May 15 – with Germany, on May 18 – with Sweden, on May 19 – with Slovakia, and in the final game of the group stage on May 21 they will meet with the USA.

In subgroup A in Prague, the hosts of the site, last year’s champions Canada, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Austria and Great Britain play.

There is only one National Hockey League (NHL) player on the French national team – Pierre Edouard Bellemare, who scored seven points (4+3) and a positive efficiency indicator of “+4” in 40 matches this season. Player insurance issues prevented Columbus Blue Jackets forward Alexandre Texier from joining the team.

The French national team also includes hockey players from the American Hockey League (AHL), as well as the national championships of France, the Czech Republic, Finland, Switzerland, Germany and Russia.
