High Point.- A man of Latino origin was arrested in High Point following a chase through three counties on the night of Saturday, August 5.

While driving through Davie County, the vehicle did not have its taillights on and caught the attention of the Highway Patrol. Realizing who it was, led to a large operation to stop him.

The protagonist of the chase is Juan Alejandro Villarreal de Santos27, who is being held at the Mocksville jail.

At around 10:30 p.m., officers tried to stop the vehicle for the lights, but the driver ignored the patrol car and began the chase, according to a Fox 8 report.

The agents followed the vehicle until it reached Forsyth County, where they paused the arrest operation. The uniformed officers discovered that the vehicle was related to a kidnapping report and that the victim might continue inside the car.

For this reason, several highway patrols resumed the pursuit on I-40. Then they continued through the exit to US-311 taking US-66 in the direction of High Point, where an operation was implemented to corner the vehicle.

The car was finally stopped on North Main Street near Old Plank Road, north of High Point.

At the site, the vehicle was cornered, although an officer was injured when the suspect tried to escape by reversing the car.

For the persecution, Villarreal de Santos faces the following charges:

Escape and evasion of arrest. Driving in an inconvenient state. Assault with a deadly weapon. Resistance to an agent. Possession of expired license. Damaged stop lights. Ignore red light.

In addition, the investigation of the alleged kidnapping is being carried out by the Winston-Salem Police Department, following the victim was found in the vehicle without injuries.
