A Venezuelan explained, in a YouTube video, his point of view on the subject and, accompanied by his father, analyzed the reasons behind this growing phenomenon.

The video began with a reflection on the economic situation in Latin America and highlighted some problems caused by the pandemic, such as the recession, which affects the region. According to @oswarditox, many people perceive a lack of economic opportunities and see the United States, one of the countries that receives thousands of migrants, as a more prosperous destination.
Countries such as Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti and Nicaragua began a massive migration to the United States due to the political and economic crisis in each of the nations. Another aspect that @oswarditox highlighted was the perceived differences between living standards in Latin America and the United States.
As the Venezuelan mentioned, the popular perception, even of poor citizens in the United States, is that they have access to luxuries such as iPhones and cars, while in Latin America the situation is different.
“In the United States, a poor person has an iPhone and has a car. In Latin America, no. Many people think that the solution is to leave because everything is bad,” said the foreigner. Despite the economic difficulties in Latin America, the YouTuber stressed the importance of considering all options before deciding to emigrate.
The young man recommended managing resources better and looking for alternatives within the region before opting for migration as the only solution, since all countries in general are going through a series of economic problems.
