Tunisian singer Latifa congratulated her colleague Sherine Abdel Wahab on the success of her last concert at the Carthage Festival. The congratulations came a few hours following the Carthage Festival director’s statement, in which he accused Latifa of promoting a campaign to defame Sherine.
Latifa said, through a post she published on her pages on social networking sites, addressing her words to Sherine: “Congratulations, my love, my heart. Always with your beautiful art.
With her words, Latifa responded to the accusation leveled by the director of the Carthage International Festival, Kamal Ferjani, of being behind the smear campaigns once morest Sherine and the 56th edition of the festival.
Ferjani revealed, in an interview with Tunisian “IFM” radio, that the campaign started by publishing a false news that Sherine will not attend the closing party. The campaign reached its climax and was widely spread by journalists affiliated with the artist, Latifa. Al-Ferjani also promised Latifa to reveal and respond to her accusations soon.
It should be noted that the concert that Sherine performed at the closing party of the Carthage Festival topped social media and artistic sites.
