Latest Westcon-Comstor deal focuses on DNS protection in Africa

Global distributor Westcon-Comstor Sub-Saharan Africa has signed a new distribution agreement with EfficientIP. The latter is considered a leader in the supply of solutions, management of IP addresses (DDI), security and Domain Name System (DNS). The partnership will see the delivery of the security solutions to the distributor’s African channel, alongside its reach in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The DNS security software market is expected to grow from $1,200.41 million in 2021 to $2,314.56 million by 2028 according to Westcon-Comstor and EfficientIP. This growth is due in part to the need for enterprises to address critical threats and pressure on the network. The number of connected devices attached to a company’s corporate network is increasing, and tracking these IP addresses can become an overwhelming task.

According to a recent survey conducted by International Drilling Company (IDC) on behalf of EfficientIP, 87% of organizations have experienced DNS attacks, with an average cost of each attack around $780,000. For EfficientIP, this is coupled with the proliferation of technologies such as cloud, IoT devices and remote working solutions which illustrates the central role of DNS in network security, both as a threat vector and as an objective. of security. The ever-increasing attack surface is not lost on hackers; hence, there are more cyber threats, with DNS servers becoming a prime target for exploitation.
