Two people, residing in the Paris region and “likely to be linked” to the author of the attack perpetrated in Brussels (Belgium) on October 16, were indicted this Tuesday, October 24 by an investigating judge , according to the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat).

Potential accomplices of the author of the attack identified, arrested and indicted. This Tuesday, the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat) announced the indictment of two people living in the Paris region by an investigating judge. The latter would be “likely to be linked” to the assailant guilty of the murder of two Swedish supporters in Brussels (Belgium) on October 16.

They were indicted for criminal terrorist association and for complicity in assassination in connection with a terrorist enterprise, and were placed in pre-trial detention.

Investigations “are continuing to clarify the links” of the two men with Abdesalem Lassoued, a radicalized 45-year-old Tunisian. The latter took the lives of two Swedish supporters on the sidelines of the Belgium-Sweden football match counting for the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

The Pnat requested the provisional detention of the two arrested individuals. On October 16, the body dependent on the Ministry of Justice opened an investigation into the head of a criminal terrorist association on the basis of information “transmitted by the Belgian judicial authorities”.

This Thursday, the Pnat announced that four people “likely to be linked to the author of the attack” were arrested in Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire and the Paris region. Only two of them were presented to an investigating judge while the other two saw their custody lifted.

The perpetrator of the attack, who had been the subject of an extradition request from Tunisia for more than a year, was shot dead on October 17 by Belgian police.
