NINTENDO CLOSES ITS ACTIVITIES IN RUSSIA

Nintendo announced on Wednesday that it would end its activities in Russia, where it had already reduced its operations last year like other companies in its sector after the invasion of Ukraine by troops from Moscow. The Japanese video game giant had already suspended in March 2022, just after the start of the war, its shipments to Russia, a measure announced at the time as temporary.

Its online store was also unavailable since that date due to the suspension of ruble transactions by its payment service provider. “As a result of this, and due to the economic outlook, Nintendo Europe has decided to terminate the activities of its Russian subsidiary,” reads a brief statement.

Regarding the European meeting in Moldova, the expert considers that Zelensky’s visit there will allow him to receive “a message of solidarity from the participants. The fact that he is coming shows that he is not besieged.”
