Regarding the “10 increase by 10” single-seat constituency that will be applied from the next House of Representatives election, the Liberal Democratic Party held a meeting at the party headquarters on the 16th, including Secretary-General Motegi and Election Committee Chairman Moriyama. We have decided on candidates for three prefectures, Wakayama, Yamaguchi, and Nagasaki, which will be one less.

Of these, Yamaguchi, where incumbent LDP lawmakers are currently elected in all four electoral districts, has Masahiro Takamura in the new 1st district and Kishi, who was elected for the first time in the April by-election, in the new 2nd district. I support Mr. Shinchiyo.

Regarding the new Yamaguchi 3rd district, both Minister for Foreign Affairs Hayashi and Shinji Yoshida, who was elected for the first time as the successor to former Prime Minister Abe in the by-election for the Yamaguchi 4th district, both wanted to run. However, it was decided to support Mr. Hayashi.

Mr. Yoshida plans to support the Chinese bloc of proportional representation.

Furthermore, in Wakayama, former Minister of State for Okinawa and Northern Territories Tsuruho, a member of the House of Councilors, will be appointed in the new 1st district, and former secretary-general Nikai will be appointed in the new 2nd district. It is a policy to make it a candidate for the representative.

The LDP has decided on 123 of the 134 electoral districts subject to “10 increase by 10” on the 16th.
