Israeli Defense Ministry officials pointed out that a total of 470 rescue trucks have been dispatched to Egypt’s Rafah Port and entered the Gaza Strip after security inspections. The U.S. government is urging Israel to reopen a crossing to allow humanitarian aid trucks to enter Gaza directly in emergencies.

CNN reported that the Gaza Ministry of Health stated that 70% of Palestinians killed during the war were women and children. The Ministry of Health issued a statement that from October 7 to December 15, approximately 18,800 people died in Gaza, and more than 51,100 people were injured. Senior U.S. officials pointed out that U.S. Defense Secretary Austin will go to Israel to put pressure on Israel to determine the goals of the war.

CNN quoted the Palestinian Red Crescent Society as saying that communications in Gaza had been interrupted for four days, the longest period since the Israeli operation began in October. Some network monitoring groups pointed out that communication interruptions may seriously limit understanding of local conditions.
