Cases of the Eris EG.5 coronavirus variant (one of the latest versions of Omicron) are soaring in Europe, reports The Republic. In Italy, it is the most present variant, with 51% of Covid cases.
This variant is responsible for symptoms very similar to the flu: high fever for several days, diffuse pain, headaches and respiratory problems. However, unlike the flu, these symptoms can have long-term consequences.
