In Casablanca, the stock market closed the August 23 session down, just like the previous session of August 22, 2023.
Like the day before, the Casablanca Stock Exchange ended its session today totally in the red. Opened then having evolved on a downward trend, the MASI, main index ended with a decline of 0.24% to 11,863.61 points.
In this downward trend, the MASI 20, an index comprising the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 0.21% to 960.52 points (pts), and the MASI ESG, made up of companies with the best ESG rating , fell from 0.42% to 0.57% to 887.07 pts.

The total volume of securities traded during the day is valued at trade amounted to 58,215,861 MAD, and the market capitalization was valued at 613,322,365,404 MAD.
As for the variations, the 3 biggest increases are due to Lesieur (+3.16% to 258.00 DH), Minière Toussit (+3.06% to 1,989.00 DH), and Aluminum du Maroc (+ 2.16% to MAD 1,324.00).
As for the three weakest, they were recorded at Res Dar Saada (-5.30% to 16.80 DH), SM Monétique (-3.99% to 167.05 DH), Rebab Company (-3.90% at MAD 78.80).
To conclude, the biggest exchanges were for Addoha (ADH) with 108,183 shares exchanged, Alliances (ADI) with 78,518 shares, and Marsa Maroc (MSA) with 54,252 shares.
