Two people, domiciled in the Paris region and “likely to be linked to the perpetrator of the attack“committed on October 16 in Brussels, were presented Monday to a Parisian investigating judge, AFP learned from the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat).

This judge must now decide on their possible indictment (indictment) for criminal terrorist association. The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office requested their pre-trial detention.

The investigations”continue to clarify the link(s)” of the two implicated with Abdesalem Lassoued, a radicalized Tunisian aged 45, who killed two Swedes when the latter came to support their national football team.

The assailant, who had been the subject of an extradition request from Tunisia for more than a year, was shot dead on October 17 by the police.

Following information “transmitted by the Belgian judicial authorities“, on October 17, 2023, France opened an investigation into the head of a criminal terrorist association.

Thursday, four people “likely to be linked to the perpetrator of the attack“were arrested in Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire and the Paris region, said Pnat. Only two were presented to an investigating judge on Monday. The other two had their custody lifted.
