Quebecer Maxime Comtois has been released from his professional trial with the Vegas Golden Knights.
This was indicated by coach Bruce Cassidy on Monday, specifying that there were few openings on the team during camp.
Comtois, a second-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2017, played 210 career games with the California club with whom he scored 38 goals and assisted on 48 other goals.
He had his best season in 2020-21 with 33 points, including 16 goals.
Comtois was shut out in four preparatory games with Vegas, posting a differential of -3.
Barré-Boulet on waivers
Alex Barré-Boulet of the Tampa Bay Lightning is one of three NHL players who have been placed on waivers.
Barré-Boulet as well as David Rittich of the Los Angeles Kings and Bobby McMann of the Toronto Maple Leafs were made available for other NHL teams.
Barré-Boulet played a game with the Lightning last year. In his career, he played 32 games in the NHL, totaling six goals and three assists.
In October 2021, he was claimed on waivers by the Seattle Kraken, a club with whom he played two games.
Rittich, a 31-year-old goaltender, has appeared in 172 career games, posting a 79-51-21 record with a 2.87 goals- once morest average and a .904 save percentage.
He also wore the colors of the Calgary Flames, Maple Leafs, Nashville Predators and Winnipeg Jets.
McMann, a 27-year-old center, appeared in ten games last year with the Leafs, recording one assist.
