Connor Bedard scored his second goal of the game in overtime to power the Chicago Blackhawks to a 2-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets.
The 18-year-old prodigy navigated his way through the neutral zone and then beat Connor Hellebuyck with a good wrist shot.
This goal is the first of Bedard’s NHL overtime career. Alex Vlasic and Anthony Beauvillier were complicit in their teammate’s winning goal.
Bedard himself opened the scoring in the first period. He drove a net to jump on his own return and put the Hawks in control at the end of the first.

Late comeback for the Devils
After a wild end to the third period, Timo Meier scored the winning goal in overtime to allow the Devils to score a 4-3 victory once morest the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Vitek Vanecek collected the victory with 26 saves. Merzlikins suffered the defeat by stopping 31 shots.
With an assist on his brother Luke’s goal, Jack Hughes (14-26 in 28 games) became the fastest player to reach the 40-point plateau in Devils history. He beat Zach Parise, who had achieved the feat in 31 games.
With a lower body injury, Zach Werenski was forced to leave the game following a collision with Palat in the second period.
Miller takes care of the Caps
K’Andre Miller scored two goals and added an assist to lead the New York Rangers to a 5-1 victory over the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.
Igor Shesterkin made 25 saves for the Rangers, who won their second straight game and five of their last six. The goalkeeper notably stood out with a spectacular save by sliding at the expense of Ivan Miroshnichenko in the third period.

However, the Rangers lost the services of their captain Jacob Trouba during this match. Trouba suffered an upper body injury in the second period following contact with Tom Wilson and did not return to the game.
Anthony Mantha was the only Capitals player to find the back of the net. He was the author of the first goal of the match, extending his streak to four games with one point.
Darcy Kuemper blocked 26 shots in front of the visitors’ cage.
Bruins break four-game losing streak
The numerical advantage favored the Boston Bruins and Jim Montgomery’s squad beat the Buffalo Sabers 4-1 on Wednesday night at KeyBank Center.
Charlie Coyle scored twice with the man advantage while Brad Marchand had two assists to snap the Bruins’ losing streak to four games.
Jeremy Swayman made 26 saves and recorded his 10th victory of the season. The goalkeeper was however able to thank the work of his defense, Charlie McAvoy saved a goal by hitting the return of Dylan Cozens’ shot on the fly as the puck was regarding to enter the net.
Mason Lohrei and Morgan Geekie were the other scorers for Boston.
The Sabers mightn’t give Devon Levi a victory on his birthday. The Quebecer celebrated his 22nd birthday by making 21 saves.
