During a press conference, when Prime Minister Aníbal Torres was consulted regarding the law that seeks the recomposition of Sunedu, he indicated that they will have to read it beforehand to decide whether to promulgate it or observe it.
“I mightn’t say we’re going to watch it without knowing the law. We have to read the law and make a decision regarding it. Of course, it has to be in the sense of strengthening Sunedu”. Likewise, the authority declared that the same will be done in the case of the law for the withdrawal of up to 18,400 soles, equivalent to 4 tax tax units (UIT) from pension funds, also approved last Wednesday in plenary.
Regarding the decision to investigate or not the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, Torres said that it is up to the National Prosecutor, Pablo Sánchez, to be the one who will opt for some path: “I know that the National Prosecutor is a legal professional and will make a decision in accordance with the legal system, “he said.
