Hugo Chávez Arévalo assures that he did not meet with Samir Abudayeh or with Karelim López
After leaving the general management of Petroperú, Hugo Chávez Arévalo spoke out. In an interview with Successful, he denied having met at the Government Palace with Samir Abudayeh, owner of the Heaven Petroleum Operators (HPO) company that won a US$74 million tender following a meeting with the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, in October 2021.
“I never met him. It was an ambush, they called me from the Government Palace so that the times coincide with this man, whom I never saw (…). Samir Abudayeh has been to Petroperú 15 times, he is a friend of those who have preceded me. In Petroperú all his purchases are planned. The company has hired every year”, he declared in dialogue with Successful.
He also pointed out that he does not know the businesswoman and aspiring effective collaborator, Karelim López, who has denounced an alleged criminal mafia entrenched in the Palace and which is directed by Castillo Terrones. “I have never spoken with Karelim López and I don’t know her either, I have only seen her on television,” she said.
