Today brings a new trailer for Horizon Forbidden West, showcasing the challenges players will face in its titular West.
After the events of Horizon Zero Dawn, this sequel puts players in the shoes of Aloy once once more. Unfortunately for Nora’s outcast-turned-hero, there doesn’t seem to be time to sit back and relax. A deadly plague now seems to be ravaging the land, once once more threatening life.
The new trailer for Playstation reveals that this plague won’t be the only thing Aloy will have to deal with, however. The Forbidden West teams up with challenges for players to complete, including Gladiator-style battles once morest deadly machines that would make even Ridley Scott proud – which Slitherfang is already giving me the creeps.
Outside of the arena, Aloy will also be able to test her skills in the various melee pits found in the settlements of Forbidden West, venture into the wild hunting grounds, or accept salvage contracts to track down rare machines.
In addition to the machines, Aloy will face a new enemy when Forbidden West is released: Regalla. Regalla is a brutal warrior, who leads one of the rebel tribes. An earlier trailer revealed Regalla’s responses to a “higher power” that would be Zero Dawn’s sleazy Sylens.
Luckily, Aloy will have some new items to help her on her way through the world, with gear such as an Oseram Forgeblast Spike Launcher, Shieldwing, Pullcaster, and Sticky Grenades in her arsenal. And, let’s be honest, it looks like she’s going to need it!
