To buy gasoline or diesel, cross-border commuters regularly go to the Luxembourg because of more attractive prices than in Lorraine.

But prices have recently changed in Grand-Ducal service stations. We take a look at prices.

Gasoline and diesel prices in Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, this Saturday June 3, 2023, you must pay 1,553 euro to buy a liter of lead free 95.

Less expensive fuel than lead free 98 whose liter is sold to 1,779 euro.

Finally, you have to pay 1,396 euro to buy a liter of diesel in Luxembourg.

The price of the SP95-E10 exceeds 1.8 euros in Moselle

For the lead free 95-E10prices remain particularly higher in Moselle than in the Grand Duchy: the prices offered by Moselle service stations located on the border exceed 1.8 euros per liter per location.

1.9 euro for a liter of SP98 in Moselle

Between Luxembourg and Moselle, the difference is not as significant for lead free 98 between certain stations.

Here are five examples of fares offered in Moselle, on the Luxembourg border, according to data recorded on Friday June 2:

• Leclerc de Marly: 1,818 euro
• Leclerc de Fameck: 1,852 euro
• Esso Express from Metz Center and System U from Talange: 1.899 euro
• Esso Express from avenues André-Malraux and Strasbourg to Metz: 1.908 euro
• Auchan from Woippy: 1,910 euros

Diesel: higher prices in Moselle

The finding is the same for the diesel : while it is offered at 1.396 euro in Luxembourg, the price can go as far as exceeding 1.6 euro in Moselle. Here are five examples:

• Leclerc de Marly: 1,592 euro
• Leclerc d’Amnéville: 1.609 euros
• Leclerc de Fameck: 1,618 euro
• Cora de Mondelange : 1,632 euros
• Talange U system: 1,639 euros
