Anderlecht may not have to transfer one, but two new goalkeepers. Indeed, Bart Verbruggen is not the only one to be leaving. Hendrik Van Crombrugge (30) is in talks with Racing Genk. The two clubs have already negotiated regarding the price.
Genk is looking for an experienced second goalkeeper. Youngster Maarten Vandevoordt remains number 1. The young Belgian has already been bought by Red Bull Leipzig, but he can stay one more year at Genk. Genk’s European season already starts on July 25 or 26. Vandevoordt won’t be available yet, as he will be taking a few weeks off after Euro U21.
Van Crombrugge has been at Anderlecht since 2019. Last season, he lost his place to Bart Verbruggen. As a reminder: Brighton are on pole for Verbruggen, who are set to cost 20 million. Colin Coosemans, Anderlecht’s number 3, should resiger. But Anderlecht will therefore have to find a number 1 and 2.
