“Latest Energy Price Update: Record Low In July 2021 Due To Weather, Imports, and Renewable Energy”

2023-05-15 08:56:00

This is the lowest level since July 2021.

Prices have been cut by more than half since the start of the year, thanks to the weather, imports of liquefied gas and the increase in the supply of renewable energy.

They are now a thousand miles from the record of 345 euros per MWh of August 2022, but still well above the 15 euros of 2020.

A very hot summer resulting in high air conditioning consumption might, however, push prices up once more.
