Customs detected the illegal entry of foreign currency on the border with Chile

The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) detected an illegal maneuver in which two Chilean citizens tried to enter the country with 200,000 euros attached to their bodies, the product of having carried out exports without the proper currency settlement.

According to the Customs investigation into the origin of the money, “it was found that one of the men had exported primary products without liquidating the foreign currency in our country; Therefore, it is presumed that the money came from said illegal maneuvers.”

The head of the DGA, Guillermo Michel, expressed that “while the genuine agricultural producers duly liquidate the currencies, others mount simulated operations with the intention of defrauding the State”, and assured: “We are not going to tolerate it.”
