Latam Brazil receives its first Airbus A321neo

The Latam group celebrated in Brazil the arrival of its first Airbus A321neo, registration PS-LBB, last Saturday, September 30, at Fortaleza airport, in Ceará.

For the delivery flight, the aircraft departed with 49% SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) mixed with conventional fuel. Latam took the opportunity to announce the acquisition of another 13 A321neo. With the new order, the number of aircraft of the model ordered by the Latam group reaches 76, which is investing to have one of the most efficient and sustainable fleets in South America.

Latam’s first A321neo carries 224 passengers and is expected to begin operating domestic flights in Brazil in October. The plane is also the first in Brazil equipped with new Airbus bins called Airspace XL bins, which ensure a better experience for customers and crew because they offer 40% more storage space and a 60% increase in hand luggage capacity. . Currently, Latam also has 20 aircraft from the A320neo family and plans to end 2023 with a total of 31 aircraft from this other model.

Currently, the Latam group is the largest operator of Airbus aircraft in South America and has 245 units from the manufacturer. By 2030, the group plans to have more than 110 aircraft of the A320neo, A321neo and A321XLR models to continue strengthening its route network and regional growth. “We thank Latam for its continued confidence in our aircraft and for choosing the A321neo once more to continue strengthening its regional growth.
