The omicron variant of covid-19 is already dominant in the country, as confirmed by the Ministry of Health this week following the increase in infections with the disease and a possible fourth peak in Colombia.
In this sense, various routines of society return to be affected, as is the case of the arrival of flights to the country. DSince last Thursday, January 6, for example, the Chilean-Brazilian airline LATAM, reported that it had to cancel seven flights within the country. In their statement they detailed that one of the main reasons has been that the variant reached the members of their crews.

“Due to this situation, which currently impacts 3% of our operation, flexibility will be given to the affected passengers”, explained the airline and added that to date 93% of its employees in the country have the complete vaccination scheme.
They also made this publication inviting users who are affected to request “The return of your ticket, change the date (without penalties) or request a change of route.”

In dialogue with Portafolio, the director of the Aerocivil, Jair Orlando Fajardo, highlighted that the operators of the airline sector have taken great care of the disease by complying with the measures and that, currently, they are working “With the Minsalud in special protocols seeking the protection of users, crews and air terminal.”
