Summer is definitely playing overtime. After a historic heat wave that broke numerous records, there were only two days of transition before the return of the sun. If the mercury is no longer going to rise to 30 degrees or more, we are still waiting for a beautiful weekend. “We are heading towards a summer weekend and a very pleasant one, indeed,” smiles Pascal Mormal, meteorologist at IRM. Temperatures will be high once more for the season, but without reaching the extremes of last week. We expect 26 at 27 degrees in the center of the country, which is magnificent weather for this late season.”
You will have to take advantage of it, because autumn is coming, slowly but surely. “A rainy deterioration will arrive in Belgium, and we will lose a few degrees from Monday. It will not be cold though, with 17-18 degrees, but it will rain regularly and the sun will be rarer.”
A third pack of wolves now prowls the High Fens
An episode which should become the norm for the weeks and months to come, if weather models are to be believed. “These are obviously major trends which will have to be refined, but the signals speak of October and November which promise to be mild… but rainy, he indicates. We are talking regarding a positive anomaly of a degree and of an active ocean flow which will bring more humidity than average.”
But that doesn’t mean the end of September will be completely crappy. “We are only halfway through the month, but we can already be sure that we will be in the top 3 of the hottest Septembers in history,” he recalls.
So let’s enjoy this beautiful and warm weekend, which will be, barring any surprises, the last of the year.
