The film was crowned winner in the “Generation 14plus” category at the Berlinale, specifically dedicated to young people. “Last Swim” was presented at the opening of this section.

The feature film takes place on a hot summer day in London at the end of the school year. It follows British-Iranian teenager Ziba, who takes her friends on an eventful journey through the city. Despite the festive atmosphere, Ziba struggles to stay positive as she struggles with a secret she keeps from her friends.

“We are extremely happy that Sacha’s debut was immediately recognized with this prize,” reacted the CEO of the Caviar production house, Bert Hamelinck. “We have been working with him for a long time on major advertising campaigns, music videos and short films, and so we were looking forward to his feature film, which immediately became a grandiose coming-of-age film,” said he commented.

Caviar had already won an award in the Generation category in 2015, with Marielle Heller who won the Grand Prix of the international jury for her first film “The Diary of a Teenage Girl”.
