Stellantis is gearing up for a major transformation of the Dodge brand, and the debut of the first electrified model will take place tomorrow (Moscow time). In the meantime, a plan has been made public to say goodbye to the existing range, which in the United States consists of only three age cars.

The Dodge Charger sedan in its current form has been produced since 2010, and the Dodge Challenger coupe since 2008. The upcoming 2023 model year will be the last for this couple. As a result, all final year cars will be adorned with a commemorative aluminum “Last Call” plaque affixed under the bonnet. And three shades that were used on older Dodge models will be added to the body color palette: blue, purple and green.

Announced the release of seven special versions of the Charger and Challenger, which will use the motifs of the most famous Dodges of yesteryear. Six of them will be declassified in the near future, and the seventh will be shown only in November at the SEMA exhibition. Finally, through the official dealers of the Dodge brand in America, you can now buy the Challenger with a convertible body!

Alas, we are not talking regarding factory machines. Dodge Challenger convertibles were only in 1970 and 1971, and the current sports car has been offered only with a coupe body from the very beginning. Many tuning houses have mastered the conversion of cars into convertibles, and now Dodge has agreed to cooperate with one of them – Drop Top Customs, which has been engaged in such conversions since 1976.

An order for the purchase of a convertible can now be placed directly with an authorized dealer. The donor Challenger will go directly from the factory to Drop Top Customs for remanufacturing, and then immediately to the buyer, bypassing all intermediate warehouses. Such an alteration will cost at least $ 26,000 on top of the price of the original coupe. The convertible has a reinforced body floor and an electric soft top, while the trunk volume is reduced by regarding 20% compared to the coupe.

The 2023 Charger and Challenger will go on sale in the fall. The Dodge Durango crossover, produced since 2010, will also move into the new model year. His resignation will take place later, but for now the most extreme Durango SRT Hellcat, which was originally only available in 2021. Such a crossover is equipped with a Hemi V8 6.2 engine with a screw compressor that produces insane 720 hp. and 875 Nm. Acceleration to 60 mph (97 km/h) takes just 3.5 seconds. The Hellcat will go on sale at the very beginning of 2023.
