This Saturday July 22 marks the penultimate stage of the Tour de France between Belfort and Le Markstein. A magnificent mountain stage set in the Vosges massif. A final fireworks display before the runners arrive on the Champs-Élysées the next day.

Ballon d’Alsace, Grosse Pierre, Croix des Moinats, Petit Ballon and Schlucht passes are on the program for these 133 kilometres. A playground that is attracting more and more fans of the little queen. Even when it goes up. Thus the Col’Attitude operation offers some of the most spectacular mountain roads in the massif in complete safety until the end of September.
On portions temporarily closed to motorized traffic, everyone will be able to measure themselves once morest the elevation and turns, without pressure or competition, in a good-natured atmosphere. Ballon d’Alsace, Lac Blanc, Planche-des-Belles-Filles… the destinations are enticing and the viewpoints exceptional, to be climbed at your own pace, alone, with friends or family. And if ever cycling is not our cup of tea, you can always take advantage of the footpaths that line the surroundings of the courses.

With sharp curves and playful hairpin bends, this pretty road frequently taken by local cyclists passes near the ruins of Herrenfluh castle and the Molkenrain farm-inn. To get to grips with it, we start from Uffholtz.

As one of Col’Attitude’s most lenient cycling options, this climb is regular and well shaded up to the junction with the Route des Crètes. Meet in Soultz, at a place called Gros-Chêne, for the start.
Sunday September 17: 8h00-12h00 – Petit Ballon – 9.3 km – elevation 548 meters – difficulty ★★★☆☆
It’s a fantastic view from the top that will reward the winners of this spicy climb where light and shadow alternate. The start awaits amateurs in Sondernach, chemin du Querben following the goose leg.
Sunday September 24: 8h30-12h00 – Col d’Oderen – 5 km – drop 249 meters – difficulty ★★☆☆☆
A few beautiful hairpin bends spice up this climb in the middle of the forest, leading to the Col d’Oderen, a discreet nugget in the Vosges mountains. Meet in Ventron for the start.

This hike takes you through the peaceful Girmont countryside, with its many ponds and a passage to the magnificent Géhard waterfall which falls into a series of potholes dug by erosion.

This sacred place of our mountain, the Saint-Mont offers a 360° panorama over the Moselle and Moselotte valleys. Along the way, we also discover the chapel of Vieux Saint-Amé and the waterfall of Miraumont.

This is new for 2023. It includes several green, blue and black runs, a trial area, two blue and black enduro descents.

Reserved for seasoned mountain bikers, it offers a succession of magnificent single tracks that will delight lovers of riding, up to Fort du Parmont and its view of the Remiremont valley.
Trail
Trail running route of the Tête des Cuveaux of 3.1 km and 230 m of elevation gain Estimated time: 1 hour
This loop circuit starting from Le Frêne, fully signposted (Eloyes Trail vert) is a great way to discover the famous site of the head of the tubs. The route then leads to the belvedere which gives a view of the massif in a sumptuous 360° panorama.
Trail tour of Saint-Nabord – 46km and 870m of elevation gain
Estimated duration: from 4h30 to 8h30 – depending on the level.
The loop circuit begins at the Perrey stadium. This fully marked TSN route corresponds to the historic route of the Infernal Trail des Vosges, the famous trail race which has taken place every year for 15 years. This demanding route is aimed at experienced trail runners who wish to test themselves in the footsteps of the Infernal.

The Vosges massif gives relief to the International Geography Festival, from September 29 to October 1 in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges

An event for both the general public and scientists, the International Geography Festival will be held from September 29 to October 1 in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. Gateway to the Vosges mountains, the city of nearly 25,000 inhabitants sees its population double over the course of a weekend. The 34th edition of the event this year offers the theme of emergencies as a red thread and welcomes a guest of honor: Chile. During these three days, the Vosges massif invests the place through a mountain space open to all, animations, exchanges and conferences.
