A summary of the case published by the Order of Nurses of Quebec (OIIQ) states that Ms. Perron, whose license to practice had expired, allegedly acted in such a way as to lead to the belief that she was licensed to practice nursing
in agreeing to go to the deceased’s home, installing an intravenous catheter in the latter’s arm; and administering a solution

Bernard Lachance died the day following the operation, on May 11, 2021, from complications related to AIDS.
The Quebec singer, known for his time at Oprah in 2009, had recently recycled himself into a star of the conspiracy movement. For some years he had been convinced that the link between the HIV and AIDS had been invented by the pharmaceutical industry to reap the profits. He had therefore stopped taking his triple therapy – a drug that prolongs the life of people with HIV – and encouraged others to follow suit.
A Radio-Canada investigationpublished in June 2021, had revealed that Mr. Lachance had become a fervent follower of the teachings of Guylaine Lanctota fallen doctor who helped popularize the conspiracy that AIDS is a hoax and claims it is possible to cure the disease with thought.
According to the singer’s family, it was Ms. Lanctôt who put Bernard Lachance in contact with Ms. Perron: Bernard Lachance’s call history, consulted by Radio-Canada, reveals that the evening before his death, Ms. Lachance spent 24 minutes on the phone with Guylaine Lanctôt, before calling Ms. Perron.
The ex-spouse of Bernard Lachance affirms that Ms. Perron went to Bernard Lachance’s home to install an intravenous solution for him. He was found dead the next morning, a few hours later.
Important clarification: this solute did not cause the death of Bernard Lachance. In his report, coroner Pierre Belisle states that the death was natural, caused by bacterial sepsis linked to an HIV infection.
But the singer’s relatives are sorry that his entourage – in particular, Guylaine Lanctôt and his followers – did not encourage Bernard to seek more serious care at the hospital. A Radio-Canada investigation published a few months ago revealed that Ms. Lanctôt rather encourages her followers to avoid doctors and hospitals.
For the family, the sanction received by Ms. Perron represents a further step towards justice. We are extremely happy with that
told us Lise Lachance, sister of the deceased. Fortunately, she decided to take responsibility by pleading guilty.
However, she says she has empathy for Ms. Perron: He is, in our opinion, another victim of Guylaine Lanctôt
she says. Except that, for her, it doesn’t affect her health, it affects her professional life.
Bernard Lachance’s family now hopes that Guylaine Lanctôt, whose license to practice medicine was permanently revoked in 1997is also sanctioned for illegal practice.
The College of Physicians has not been able to confirm or deny the existence of an investigation targeting Guylaine Lanctôt.
