Last days for its submission 2024-07-16 15:20:52

Within ten days in total, until next Thursday, July 18, 2024, candidates are invited to make their choices.

Completing and submitting the computerized form is a particularly important process and in fact, some educational analysts insist that it has a weight comparable to that of the exams themselves. For this reason, choices should be made following thought and research.

After the process of submitting the Computerized Applications, the way will be “opened” for the announcement of the admission bases for the 90,416 candidates who participated in the All-Hellenic Examinations, claiming one of the 68,851 available positions in Higher Education for the academic year 2024-25.

According to the data available, no particular changes are expected in the admission bases for the 1st, 3rd and 4th Scientific Fields, Humanities, Health Studies, Economics and Informatics, respectively. In the 2nd Scientific Field, Positive Studies, a slight drop in grades is expected, of the order of 200 to 300 points.

The first step

Certainly, with the application of the Minimum Admission Base, the candidates’ choices are somewhat limited, since they can only choose schools and departments whose EBE is equal to or greater than their grade performance.

In addition, the ranking of schools and departments based on admission bases of previous years is a way to understand the popularity, but also the outlook of some of them. However, as specialist careers advisers often point out, the basis of admission is not a reliable criterion for its value, and it does not take into account factors related to an applicant’s interests and capabilities.

A basic first step, therefore, before a candidate reaches his final choices, is the research on the content and quality of the studies.

More specifically, it is very important for applicants to study the curricula, i.e. the courses, but also the requirements (e.g. courses per semester, workshops, compulsory attendance, course examination methods) to see if a department or school is really in in the range of their interests and capabilities.

Important evaluation factors, which must be taken into account, are whether the curriculum is modern, collaborations with foreign universities, postgraduate programs that can later contribute to subsequent specialization or re-specialization, the academic quality of the professors (publications, academic activity ), as well as the evaluation of study programs by the National Authority for Higher Education (ETHAAE) and other international organizations.

Choices without prejudices

One of the most important things that applicants should keep in mind is that apart from the school they will be admitted to, it is very important that they have a good chance of success in it so that they can grow personally and professionally followingwards.

Therefore, the results of the research that the candidates will do should be seen without the “colored glasses” of prejudices and stereotypes, but based on their real interests, as it is very important that they really like what they will study, without worrying regarding it now regarding the profession they will do next.

After all, with the way the labor market is structured today and taking into account the rapid and immediate developments brought by technological progress, admission to a certain department or school at the age of 18 does not necessarily determine one, unique and predetermined career path. The specialization (upskilling) and reskilling (reskilling) are already a key part of the professional life of a new scientist or employee and thus, the options for studies following the first degree are multiple.

Until when

The michanografiko.it.minedu.gov.gr platform will be open until midnight on Thursday, July 18, 2024 (23:59).

The deadline for submission of Computerized and Parallel Computerized Forms is exclusive and following its absence no candidate will be able to finalize them.

How to submit the Computerized Bulletin

Candidates can visit the relevant platform at the address and, using their personal security code (password), they can choose to process Computerized or Parallel Computerized Pass.

First, candidates can fill in some temporary preferences (by selecting TEMPORARY SAVE) and then “lock” their final Computerized Form (by selecting FINALIZE). When filling out the Computer Form, candidates see and can choose those departments, for which the average of their grades is equal to or greater than the minimum admission basis of each department, taking into account, where necessary, the EBE of the special course or practical tests.

Who can submit a Parallel Computerized Report for admission to SAEK (former public IEK)

At the same time as the possibility of submitting a Computerized Report, there is also the possibility of submitting a Parallel Computerized Report, for admission to Schools of Higher Vocational Training (SAEK – formerly public IEK).

Candidates who participated in the 2024 National Examinations, as well as seniors who obtained a high school diploma in 2024, can submit a Parallel Transcript, regardless of whether or not they participated in the 2024 National Examinations.

Parallel Computer Science concerns specializations in Public SAEK that are supervised by the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports or the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Tourism or the Ministry of Rural Development and Food (ELGO Dimitra) or the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (DPA) and concern the First semester of winter semester 2024 training.

General instructions and information

1. Candidates are recommended to print and/or save on their computer the finalized computerized form (which will automatically have a protocol number), so that they can see their final preferences at any time.

2. Candidates who have not already obtained a personal security code (password) and are interested in submitting MD and/or PMD should go to their high school on their predetermined operating days to obtain a personal security code (password).

3. Those candidates who do not remember the password they had already obtained at their school, can either contact their high school, or alternatively – and if they had registered a personal email when obtaining the password -, set a new security code through the application Computer Card, with the option “Forgot the Security Code”, without going to the school unit.

4. For any information, support, even the use of a computer that they may not have, candidates will be able to contact their high schools, which will be open on the days with the scheduled shifts of each high school and additionally on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
