It is more than fair recognition for the LASK century player. On Thursday, the Linz city senate approved LASK’s application to rename the area at the standing room entrance to the Raiffeisen Arena to “Helmut-Köglberger-Platz”.
Köglberger, who died in 2018, was not only unique on the pitch. He also shone outside with his strength to treat everyone equally and to be there for the weakest.
This was particularly evident in the Acakoro project for children from the Kenyan slums, which was launched together with ÖFB honorary president Leo Windtner, and which Köglberger had always been the patron of.
