LASK finds buyer for transfer flop

In January 2022, Filip Twardzik moved from Trnava to LASK, after two and a half years he is finally returning to the Slovak first division club – in between there are only eleven competitive appearances in the jersey of the athletes, four of them for the second team.

The former Czech youth team player was supposed to stabilize a team in the spring of 2022 that was not working well. It was the season in which LASK ended up in the qualification group. Twardzik did not live up to expectations. Although he defended in seven of the first nine competitive games for LASK, his playing time steadily decreased. He stood out for his speed and robust tackling, but also for his positioning errors.

Then he tore a ligament in his ankle. The forced break lasted five months and he missed the preparation for the 2022/23 season. The left-footer lost touch, especially as LASK underwent a change in direction in response to the weak season and strengthened significantly.

In January 2023, Twardzik returned to Trnava for the first time, still on loan at the time. He gained half a year of match practice, but when he returned to LASK he again had no jersey. He could not prevail against the competition, and in January he was assigned to the second team.

Now the unfortunate engagement is over. The 31-year-old is returning to Trnava for good. His contract with LASK would have run until next summer.
