Lasith Malinga appointed Rajasthan Royals bowling coach

Legendary Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga returns to the IPL. Malinga will start his second innings in the IPL as the Rajasthan Royals pace bowling coach. Along with Malinga, former Rajasthan coach Paddy Upton has returned to the coaching staff.

Malinga, who played for Mumbai Indians from 2008 to 2019, is the highest wicket-taker in the IPL. The arrival of Malinga, who is considered to be the legendary pacer in the T20s and is well-versed in IPL and international cricket, will further strengthen the Rajasthan pace department. Malinga has said that his goal in Rajasthan is to make young players better players.

Legendary Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara is the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals. Trevor Penny, Subin Barucha and Dishant Yagnik are also in the coaching staff.

The IPL matches will start on March 26. The final will be held on May 29. The inaugural match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 55 matches are in Mumbai and 15 matches are in Pune. 20 matches each at Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium and 15 matches each at Brabourne and Pune MCA International Stadium. The play-offs will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
