Las Grutas: 80% reservations for the extra-long carnival weekend

February started in Las Grutas with a mixed picture, but one that encourages the enthusiasm of the providers, who believe that the dynamic that is marking the pulse of the summer will continue in force. Namely, a moderate audience from Monday to Thursday and weekends with a greater presence of tourists.

What is different in this second month of the season is that there are very different levels of reserves for the different sections. There are 50% of places committed for the start but more than 80% reserved for the period from 18 to 21which is that of the extra-long holiday that is coming up.

“Carnival was always a success in Las Grutas. In fact, with the reservations for those dates, we start at the beginning of the season, so it is It is normal for this to happen, but obviously we are happy,” said Carlos Rivas, one of the leaders of the non-hoteliers association, the category of accommodation that contributes the most beds to the destination.

The first part of the month, however, is looking more complicated. “Which we believe is that even if reservations do not increase, people will arrive but directly to ‘fight’ pricesas it has been happening since the beginning of the year” advanced Rivas.

That haggling is also one of the main characteristics of this vacation. “Those who arrive know that there are places available and they speculate on that,” said the provider.

Meanwhile the expectation is set on this first weekend of February, which will be key for traders. “It is that it will be seen how many visitors stay beyond Sunday, and it will help us to measure how the occupation will come in the first fortnight” assured the non-hotelier.
