The largest coal mining issuer in Indonesia, PT Bumi Resources, continues to intensify corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs that have a real impact on society. So far, in its implementation, Bumi has not only focused on providing assistance, but also supports community empowerment so that they can achieve prosperity independently.
“We have been carrying out CSR activities since 2001. Our activities focus on environmental social governance (ESG) or environment, social and governance. “We have a community of between 200 thousand and 300 thousand people as recipients of support,” explained President Director Bumi Adika Nuraga Bakrie in an official statement, Saturday (11/5).
Several programs run by the company include Community Based Waste Management Assistance and the Mangrove Rehabilitation Program. These two programs not only create socio-economic value for society, but also have a positive impact on the environment.
Meanwhile, in the education sector, since 2019, Bumi has been actively managing School Digitalization and various other activities. Together with PT Kaltim Prima Coal as a business unit, Bumi also embraces community empowerment around mining operational locations, for example through livestock business development programs, Resilient UKM, and the Independent Village Program based in Sangatta, East Kalimantan.
