Literally a week and a half following publications photos of a camouflaged car, Chery posted images of a serial sedan on the Web. In China, the Chery Arrizo 8 model should become the brand’s flagship passenger car and compete with Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry or Kia K5.
The sedan with a length of approximately 4.8 m is built on a front-wheel drive platform and has a “status” side glazing with additional windows in the rear pillars. Similarities with Chery crossovers can be traced in the form of headlights and taillights. At least two body kit options will be offered, on the renders they can be distinguished by the shape of the exhaust pipes – round or rectangular.
Chery Arrizo 8 will have two screens on the front panel (12.3 inches each), an augmented reality head-up display, rich interior trim with wood grain inserts, ten airbags and power front seats with Mercedes-style door controls. The camera eye on the windshield pillar is a face recognition and driver fatigue monitoring system.
Characteristics and any technical details have not yet been published. According to preliminary information, Arrizo 8 will be offered with two turbo engines to choose from: units with a volume of 1.6 and 2.0 liters are familiar from the crossovers of the Exeed subsidiary brand. The full-fledged debut of the sedan was supposed to take place at the Beijing Auto Show, but its canceled due to the new wave of coronavirus. However, the premiere of the Arrizo 8 model will still take place in the coming months.
