Large-scale exercise: emergency services practiced in Esternberg for an emergency

2023-09-19 01:11:00

In an impressive large-scale exercise, the Red Cross in the Schärding district, the Red Cross Grieskirchen, the Bavarian Red Cross and the Esternberg fire department recently demonstrated their impressive commitment and strength of cooperation.

A tragic incident occurred during a violent storm: a building in Esternberg collapsed where a celebration was taking place. A total of 22 people were injured, some seriously, and required urgent medical care. The fire brigade and Red Cross teams were quickly on the scene to provide immediate assistance to the injured.

Support also came from neighboring Bavaria, where the Bavarian Red Cross arrived with experienced emergency services. The Esternberg fire department cleared the path to the scene, which was blocked by trees, and then carried out rescue work.

The cooperation between the emergency services worked smoothly and efficiently, which ensured that the exercise ran almost smoothly. Particularly noteworthy is the committed work of the crisis intervention teams, who looked following the affected relatives and the uninjured people. This sensitive support plays a crucial role in dealing with such stressful situations.

“The large-scale exercise clearly illustrated how important well-coordinated cooperation between different rescue organizations is in order to be able to provide the best possible help in emergency situations,” says Schärdinger district rescue commander Florian Kurz.
