Al-Marsad newspaper: “Ammon” news agency revealed the reason for the presence of large numbers of Nigerians in the archaeological site of Umm Qais in the Bani Kinana Brigade in Jordan, and the nature of the rituals they perform.
This came following a video clip appeared on social media showing hundreds of Nigerians assembled at the archaeological site of Umm Qais.
“The presence of these numbers of Nigerians of both sexes and of all ages in the Umm Qais area, specifically in the ancient archaeological site, comes as an annual religious tradition for a Christian sect, which comes from its country to perform Hajj,” Ammon Agency quoted an informed source as saying.
And the circulating video clip documented, Nigerians climbing a hill at the archaeological site of Umm Qais and apparently performing religious rituals.
While the Nigerian Christian Hajj Committee announced that “the main pilgrimage will begin by the end of May to Jordan, Israel and Rome.”
