Steyr – In Steyr, a major fire broke out around 5 p.m. on Saturday evening with heavy smoke developing on the premises of the BMW plant in Steyr. All fire brigades in the city of Steyr were deployed, and the professional fire brigade in Linz was also requested. However, this was no longer used, reported the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten (online edition) in the evening. The approximately 100 firefighters in the city managed to extinguish the fire following around one and a half hours.
