No danger for company buildings
The Erema company for plastics recycling is located in the immediate vicinity of the accident site. A company spokeswoman said on Wednesday morning that operations were not affected. “We were informed regarding the situation by the police this morning and we are in constant contact with the operations center. Everything is very well organized.” 600 to 700 people work at the site.
Spokesman Christoph Pollinger said the Asfinag site, which also borders the evacuated settlement, is not at risk either. The police, ambulance and fire brigade have now set up an operations center on this site in the motorway maintenance department. “Of course we agreed to this and are happy to provide food,” says the Asfinag spokesman.
The incident has not yet been reported to the public prosecutor, as a spokeswoman said on request. No police report had been received, the prosecutor said on Wednesday morning.
