Laporta ends the controversy and announces Conde’s transfer to Chelsea

Amid many good news for Barcelona fans, with the signing of Rafinha, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessé and Andreas Christensen, Joan Laporta shocked fans of the Catalan team.

Seville defender Jules Conde was one of the main goals of coach Xavi Hernandez, and some reports confirmed that Barcelona is the closest party to obtaining his services.

But Chelsea intervened in time to snatch the deal following reaching an agreement with the Andalusian club to sign Conde for 55 million pounds.

Despite what the British newspaper “The Guardian” said regarding Barcelona’s request from Conde to wait a little and refusing to join the Blues, Laporta came out to settle this file completely.

While he was in Las Vegas with the Barcelona delegation to participate in the preparatory period for the new season, Laporta responded to a Barcelona fan who asked him regarding the inclusion of the French defender.

The fan said: “Will you sign with Conde?”, to which the Catalan club president replied: “No, not Conde, he has already signed with Chelsea.”

During his dialogue with the fan, Laporta stressed that he does not despair of strengthening the team’s defense line, stressing that he is on his way to restore this center during the current summer Mercato.

It is worth noting that Barcelona has been linked with many other defensive names this summer, such as Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso from Chelsea, in addition to Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte and Villarreal’s Pau Torres.
